Hiedanranta tram stop — Hiedanranta · Lielahti

Hiedanranta is one of Tampere’s most ambitious urban development projects. On a former pulp-industry site near Lielahti, an entirely new district is rising in stages, planned to bring homes, jobs and services for thousands of residents. The old factory buildings have been given interim use as spaces for culture, events and entrepreneurship.

The area is known for its creative and experimental atmosphere: the old factory setting serves as a stage for workspaces, art exhibitions, restaurants and events, even as new construction rises around it. The shore of Näsijärvi gives the area open views and, in the future, extensive recreational opportunities.

Line 1 is a central part of Hiedanranta’s development, since good public transport is the starting point of the plan. From the stop you can conveniently reach the centre and the services of Lielahti, and continue onward toward Niemenranta and Lentävänniemi.
