Kaleva tram stop — Kaleva · Sammonkatu

The Kaleva stop serves one of Tampere’s most densely built districts. Kaleva is known for its 1950s–60s apartment blocks, green courtyards and the busy Sammonkatu, the area’s main artery and the tram route.

The area is a popular place to live thanks to its proximity to the city centre and its good services. Around the stop you will find grocery shops, cafés and local services, and Sammonkatu bustles with everyday life from morning to evening.

From Kaleva it is a short trip both to the city centre and to the sports venues further east. The tram has made the district even more accessible, and Kaleva is in fact one of line 3’s busiest central neighbourhood stops. Note that the well-known Kalevan kirkko (Kaleva Church) is served by a different stop.
